An Inter-Religious Centre
Divyodaya is an inter-religious dialogue centre of CMI Preshitha Province, Coimbatore, started in 1980, by Carmelites of Mary Immaculate fathers under the leadership of Fr. John Peter CMI to promote religious harmony and national integration. The name ‘Divyodaya’ means “the Dawn of the Divine” or Divine Awakening, explained as the ability to see humanity through the eyes of God. It is a new vision that enables to see humanity beyond the barriers of caste, creed and community. Divyodaya was started to promote religious harmony among the people in and around Coimbatore. Divyodaya is proud to state that we are able to bring people of all religion and walks of life under the Divyodaya motto “Bonds that unite us are stronger than the barriers that separate us.” Divyodaya brings different organizations and groups under one umbrella in the process of imparting the feeling of oneness of humanity.
